At 8:44pm central time, a Twitter bombshell exploded. Masin Elije (@MasinElije) began a series of tweets that could potentially become a serious controversy for Wizards star, Dwight Howard. The first tweet stated, “I was afraid to speak but today my life was threatened after I was sexually harassed, threatened and manipulated, by someone I respected, my ex boyfriend NBA player Dwight Howard, and his camp also “”catfished”” by his disrespectful [expletive] PASTOR.”
The tweet was accompanied by a picture of Dwight Howard in uniform. As if the first shot over the bow wasn’t shocking enough, no fewer than twenty (20) tweets followed detailing some rather serious allegations. Masin Elije went on to explain that, allegedly, threats were made to her safety regarding her refusal to sign a non-disclosure agreement and refusal to accept so-called “hush money.”
What follows is a series of detailed tweets that include details about the beginning of the alleged relationship between Masin Elije and Dwight Howard. Masin Elije alleges that they met at a venue called Wild N Out, a hip hop improv show hosted by Nick Cannon. Over this past summer, Wild N Out was filmed in Atlanta. Atlanta is Masin Elije’s hometown.
Additional tweets detail an allegedly tumultuous relationship wherein Elije accuses Howard of cheating with a transgender prostitute. It should be noted here that Elije herself lives a transgendered lifestyle. According to Elije, the infidelity and Howard’s alleged participation in transgender sex parties caused the breakdown of their relationship.
Elije include several tweets with video of conversations allegedly held with Howard. The audio is difficult to hear and understand, and there is no identification of either participant other than as alleged by Elije. It is at this point that Elije alleges that Dwight Howard threatened physical violence, and that a pattern of harassment and stalking began.
The stalking alleged by Elije included multiple threatening phone calls from an individual alleged to be Dwight Howard’s pastor, Calvin Simmons. Elije’s final tweet alleges that she has already contacted police, and concludes with an ominous warning: “… if anything shall happen to ME, this is the truth, here is my proof and I don’t want you guys to ever stop fighting for ME and what is right! Dwight Howard is heartless and has the power to stop all this, but he WON’T!”
It should be noted that Masin Elije is currently promoting a book, “Industry Hoe,” on sale for $13.99. The website also promotes various hair weaves for sale, touting them as “high quality luxury hair.” However, Ms. Elije also tweeted that “It’s sad people will assume you’re doing [expletive] for ‘fame’ when I been lit, I been that [expletive] on and offline. Dwight ain’t no Kobe, he ain’t MJ, he ain’t LeBron he ain’t even KD. I liked him for who he was and he allowed his people to threaten and disrespect me. Period.”
At the time of this publication, there has been no official response from Calvin Simmons or Dwight Howard or anyone representing either of them.
